Banana Chocolate Chip Snacking Cake (vegan)

This Banana Chocolate Chip Snacking Cake is super easy to make with ingredients you’ll have on hand. It has a rich banana flavour and the chocolate chips make it even more fun.

I baked this cake with my son Bly and my daughter Fern. I love to make them homemade treats on the weekend. I use them in school lunches and for after school snacks.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C) and grease a 9x13 inch pan or large springform pan.
  2. Mash the bananas
  3. Whisk the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt together in a large bowl
  4. Using a mixer or a whisk, beat the sugars, applesauce and oils together for about 1 minute until creamy. Add the flax eggs and the vanilla, then beat in the mashed bananas.
  5. Mix the dry ingredients together with the wet. Do not overmix. Stir in the chocolate chips
  6. Pour into your prepared pan and bake for 45 mins.
