Ok, right from the start some of you might hate Costco. There are a lot of good reasons to be angry at big box stores, and congratulations to everyone supporting local businesses! This post, however, is for those of you who love Costco, and to those who may not have realized that Costco can be a fantastic source of vegan staples and specialty items. Even if you are not vegan, you might find a lot of healthy and delicious options here. The number of veg-friendly products they carry is large, and growing! I wanted to share a few of my favourites.
These chocolate chips are vegan, yummy and perfect for baking, and a serious bargain at $12.99 for 2 kg! They come in a resealable bag, and will last for ages if you don’t just eat them by the handful ; )
Agave is a wonderful alternative to honey in baking and it is perfect for sweetening hot or iced tea. I love that this brand is organic too!
I swirl almond butter into my porridge in the morning, so I go through it pretty fast. This one is tasty.
This was a new product for me, and I am happy to say, we love it! The combination of nuts and seeds makes for a healthy and decedent spread.
Confession time, I did not actually buy this, but I thought it looked great! I think I am going to try making my own chia jam at home. But, if you want the convenience, this one looks great, with natural ingredients.
I do cook my own beans from dry most of the time, but, there are days when I just don’t have the time. These chick peas are perfect to have in the pantry for making a quick curry on busy nights. Bargain too at under $1 per can!
This quinoa is $14.99 for 1.8 kg, which is great value, plus it is organic. My favourite part is that it is pre-rinsed; such a time and hassle saver!
Coconut oil. I use it for baking and for beauty. This 2.3L tub lasts a long time!
if you love apple cider vinegar, Costco can hook you up with a whole lot of it!
I use raw cashews to make rich vegan salad dressings, ‘cheese’ sauce and alfredo sauce.
These dates are my husband’s favourite! Perfect snacking, and great for using in baking and smoothies.
I’m on a dried cherry kick lately. I love adding these to my morning porridge.
Those are a few of my favourite things at Costco. What about you? I’d love to hear about your favourites too.
